The council has contributed a large sum of money and the king has also contributed out of his own coffer, but another £40,000 is still needed. The king therefore requests a loan of £100, to be repaid by 30 Nov. The money must be taken to the receipt by 2 Feb and a bill will be issued for repayment. Sign manual of Henry VII. Signet letter. Dated 1 Dec, no year. [Date: Date of Henry VII's war with Scotland. Neither the king nor the prior is actually named.] Given at the palace of Westminster [Middlesex].
