DescriptionActa before the official of the court of Canterbury, commissary of Robert Kilwardby, archbishop of Canterbury, in St Mary-le-Bow church, London, on 7 Dec 1273, with continuations and adjournments until 12 Dec. The archbishop is acting as papal judge delegate in a case between the subprior and convent of Dover Priory, represented by the subprior as its proctor, and the priory and convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory, whose proctor is Mgr Walter de Tremfeld', clerk, concerning the breaking of a confirmation sought by the cathedral priory from Pope Urban [IV?]. 7 Dec was the day appointed for the cathedral priory to propose all dilatory exceptions in writing. Dover Priory challenged the exceptions, claiming that they had not been submitted by a suitable proctor. Walter had had letters of proxy when the exceptions were submitted, but had not exhibited them on that day. Eventually, however, he was admitted as proctor and the exceptions were approved. 15 Jan 1274 was assigned as the day to dispute the exceptions.
