DescriptionParty: H, prior of Canterbury Cathedral Priory; the convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory

The priory and Robert, priest of Deopham, have settled their dispute concerning Deopham church. Robert acknowledged that he was the priory's vicar of the church of Deopham, which had been given to the priory in perpetual alms by William, bishop of Norwich, at the presentation of the late Henry de Ria. He also acknowledged that a pension of 2 marks, which he had withheld for about 10 years, was owed to the priory from the church. He has now made satisfaction for these arrears and, as long as he behaves faithfully towards the priory, it will take no action against him. The priory grants Robert the church of Deopham for an annual pension of 2 marks, payable as specified. Robert swears to pay the pension and to keep faith with the priory concerning the church and in all other matters. No date. [Date: the prior is probably Herlewin, I, following the dating of Richard of Dover's confirmation of this agreement (DCc-ChAnt/D/7 and DCc-ChAnt/D/8) in English Episcopal Acta, cited below.]
