Bunce catalogued these documents under the title 'Archdeacon of Canterbury'. The majority of the documents relate to a dispute between the cathedral priory and the archdeacon in the late 13th century. An account of this is given in M T Bateson, Papal jurisdiction and courts in England in the period 1272-1327 (unpublished DPhil thesis, University of Manchester, 1987), chap 8.

Except for DCc-ChAnt/A/66, which relates to Adisham, these documents relate to St Augustine's Abbey in Canterbury. Much material relating to these documents, and especially to the disputes in which the abbey was involved, is to be found in Thorne's chronicle. See A H Davis, William Thorne's Chronicle of St Augustine's Abbey Canterbury (Oxford, 1934). These documents relate to the priory's manor of Adisham, near Canterbury. Much of the material relates closely to material in the sections for the priory's other manors in East Kent, such as Eastry and Ickham.
The section for Adisham in DCc/Register/C, ff14r-34v, contains 40 charters and the section in DCc/Register/E, ff190r-193r, 28 of these. DCc-ChAnt/P/31 also relates to Adisham.

The section for Appledore in DCc/Register/C, ff249r-257v, contains 49 charters and the section in DCc/Register/E, ff285v-288r, the first 19 of these.

This sections contains various documents relating to the archbishop, the archdeacon, St Augustine's Abbey and Aldington. DCc-ChAnt/A/228, which had not previously been catalogued, relates to Agney. DCc-ChAnt/A/227, a document concerning the investigation of the Becket forgery in 1238, contains an important list of monks of Canterbury Cathedral Priory.
