Date1600x1644
DescriptionWriter: Donne, John, Dr, poet and divine

A pencil note on the flyleaf, apparently in Sir Robert's hand, records: "Sept 24 1810 - At the death of the Revd John Morris in 1798 (May) his library was sold, It consisted partly of his own collecting, partly of the books which had belonged to a predecessor of his in the R. of Milton Bryan. I bought this with a Lot of Copy Books and by comparing it with the printed Copy I have reason to think it was the original manuscript, though not in the handwriting of the author himself. If I recollect aright the autograph of Donne in Zouch's Walton." Dr Donne's BIATHANATOS was published in 1644.
