Order NumberCCA-DCc-SealBag/19
TitleSeal Bag No. 19
Date12th-13th century?
DescriptionA round bag, about 11.5 cm (4.5 in.) in diameter. There is a yellow design on a very pale pink or buff background, possibly of foliage, but not easy to discern now, perhaps similar to No. 16. Robinson described it in 1934 as ‘yellow griffins on each side of a foliated stem’. The bag is open to half-way and has a small rope which zig-zags through a series of small eyelets. The material probably has Sicilian origins.
