| Order Number | CCA-DCc/Register/E |
| Title | Priory Register/Cartulary |
| PreviousNumbers | Register C.5 |
| Date | 1290x1300 |
| 8thx15th century |
| Description | "Registrum omnium cartarum & composicionum ecclesie Cantuar' " (Register of all charters and compositions of the Church of Canterbury). General cartulary, with only the occasional later (up to c1500) addition on blank folios, covering charters of 774 onwards, with additions up to c.1500
The original sequence forms the core of the reference number on this catalogue (1, 2, etc) with the folio number in the field 'Previous number'. In some places, there are unexplained gaps in the foliation. Where a reference in the form 6A, 6B, is used, this denotes that it was not numbered in the original; these have been given a suffix letter to fit them in the right place. In other places the numbers are repeated by mistake. The original number for these is given under Previous number. The description entry is given in the order: Issuer > Beneficiary > Brief synopsis. Place of issue and witness availability are given in separate fields of 'Place Index' and 'General Index' respectively. A wide date bracket indicates that the entry is undated.
The information provided in the entries is an outline calendar and basic thumbnail summary of the entries, rather a complete transcript.
