AdminHistory	CATALOGUING METHOD. Dates given are for the print rather than for the artwork being reproduced. The terms 'engraving', 'lithograph' etc are used only when the printing process used can be identified with some certainty. Otherwise, items are simply described as 'prints'. 'Print' is also used for items reproduced by the photomechanical processes introduced in the 19th century.

Also, it holds a portfolio of prints collected by John Bargrave in the 17th century. For further reading, see Ann Hart, Engravings of Kent (London, 1989). This catalogue was prepared by Cressida Annesley in Jan 2000 with the assistance of Mrs Margaret Sparks, cathedral historian. Further work, on sections 1 and 6, was carried out during 2000 by Miss P Dagwell, volunteer.

Record
