DescriptionWriter: Shepherd, John, sometime sacrist of Canterbury Cathedral

Describing work he has done without payment. He made a 'cradell' and mended one of the pinnacles of Bell Harry Tower. Only [John] Simpson [prebendary] was able to read the documents which included a composition between the King and the priory concerning the water supply.
This was used to prove title against Lord Wotton. Dean Neville once received a complaint about Shepherd. Shepherd asks for payment for his work. Endorsed with date in another hand. 25 Nov. [Sacrist in 1614 (DCc/CA 4, f130)]
