Description	The Dean and Chapter appointed the precentor annually from the minor canons. He was responsible for discipline among the singers in the cathedral and for deciding, with the organist, which hymns were to be sung at cathedral services. The precentors also had to record the presence or absence of the Dean and canons, the minor canons and the lay clerks at Divine Service. These books are the product of that duty. Note: There appears to be a missing volume, which would have covered the years 1915-1930.
