| Description | Tenor part-book arranged in tête-bêche binding, containing services and, reversing the volume, anthems. Begun about 1688-1691. Edited and repaired, with additions, by William Raylton before 22 November 1733. Robert Ford suggests the principal copyists were George Rogers, Humfrey Brailsford, Richard Young, Nicholas Wootton, A Chorister, Daniel Henstridge, John Knott, William Elvey, Michael Daniel BanfieId, Adam Williamson,Thomas Jennings, William Raylton and Samuel Porter. A copy of Robert Ford’s printed catalogue is available to consult in the reading room. A detailed contents listing is available online via the Répertoire International des Sources Musicales (RISM) database.
Pagination note: on service side, there is a blank page for 158 and then two further p.158s (these were labelled 158a, b, and c in the digital images). On anthem side, pagination jumps from p.56 to 61 for no obvious reason. |
