Description	These are mandates for installing the honorary canons of the cathedral. This office was established in 1852, after the number of residentiary canons was reduced under the Ecclesiastical Duties and Revenues Bill of 1840. There were originally 24 honorary canons, although this number was increased to 30. With the residentiary canons, they make up the cathedral's Greater Chapter. The archbishop of Canterbury holds the patronage of honorary canons.
