DescriptionA composite volume of books, some still in their original covers. They list payments of stipends of canons and church officers, fees of other officials, alms paid out, expenses for workmen, purchases of books, vestments, bread, wine, wax, building materials, transport costs, and extraordinary expenses. Accounts run 25 Nov to 25 Nov unless otherwise stated.

(f101r) 1561-1562; the cover is a 1338 ratification by the prior of the foundation by William de Clinton, earl of Huntingdon, of Maxstoke monastery, also involving the bishop of Lichfield and the prior of Coventry. On its dorse are various [C15/C16] drawings including the head of a crowned lady, a bearded man pointing, a sword, a wheel design, and 2 Tudor roses, all possibly related to St Catherine.
