DescriptionDictionarium Latinum. A folio paper book of 139 leaves, ruled in double columns of 47 lines. The English equivalents of the Latin words are written in red ink, many of these are curious, eg, Appendix = a lady's treyne. Comedia = a towne song. Comedus = a wryter or discover of towne songs. Mendacium = leisyng. Altramentarium = an ynkehorn or a bleche pott. In the margin William Somner has written the Anglo-Saxon equivalent to many of the words. Dr. Todd suggested that this book is the Medulla Grammaticalis of a Dominican friar named Geoffrey. On folio 129 is the following note:- "This is Giles Wynstons book honest man of the parish of Saynt Dunstan".
