Recording the events and circumstances of the 1888 antiquarian investigations in the cathedral, with particular reference to the tomb in the crypt thought to be that of Becket. Includes an account of the murder, the building of the shrine and its history, and adds an account of Thornton's examination, the crypt skeleton and its reburial afterwards.
The difficult hand of Mrs Rawlinson has a facing transcription up to p36. There is then an appendix with no transcription. Date of the notebook apparently 1893 (reference in text).
