Description | This is an artificial grouping of mainly secondary financial records, such as bills of expenses, receipts, parts of day books, and other subsidiary financial accounts. Most relate to the last century of the priory's existence and concern internal financial affairs. Many were rescued, literally, from Prior Goldston II's wastepaper basket, their originally screwed up nature still being apparent. However, a considerable number of the documents concern neither domestic nor economic affairs. The class was listed by C.E. Woodruff in the early years of the twentieth century, but there have been many additions and removals since that time. Items DCc/DE/230-233 were added in Apr 2017 from a box of uncatalogued material. |
