| Description | As indicated by a mark on the spine, this book was bound by Jack Maple in 1961. In most cases, the documents are pasted along one side only, leaving the dorse visible. Unless indicated in the catalogue, there are no accompanying notes or transcriptions.
These documents were assembled from a variety of sources. A number bear endorsements by CR Bunce. Some of the material was taken from a parcel marked by Bunce as 'useless' (eg DCc/ChCh Let III/3-4).
At the end of CE Woodruff's catalogue of DCc/ChCh Let II/220-336 (MS Cat 67) are listed 5 letters from this volume which then made up Portfolio VI. Previously the letters now numbered 21 to 47 made up Portfolio A and were numbered from 1 to 27 in magenta ink. A list of these is found in Bunce's Schedule vol 2, pp368-71 in a late 19th- or early 20th-century hand. |
