The abbey, in accordance with an agreement made between it and the king on 16 Jul, grants the priory an annual payment of £6 13s 4d, payable as specified. Penalty of 6s 8d if payment in arrears. The priory grants the mayor and commonalty that it will keep an anniversary for the king, the souls of Elizabeth, late queen of England, his wife, their children, Edmund Tudor, earl of Richmond, the king's father, all the king's ancestors, and the soul of Margaret Beaufort, countess of Richmond and Derby, the king's mother, after her death, on 7 Feb or the preceeding Saturday if it falls on a Sunday. After the king's death, the anniversary shall also be for his soul and shall be kept on the day of his burial, unless it falls on a Sunday or certain festivals, when it shall be kept as specified. Detailed provisions about how the anniversary is to be celebrated, including the texts (in Latin) of the prayers to be used and texts of prayers to be said by any monk celebrating requiem mass in the cathedral on the day of the anniversary. Details about provision of a hearse and tapers and ringing of the cathedral bells. Details of payments to be made to the prior and subprior for celebrating the anniversary. The priory will pay the mayor and commonalty £13 6s 8d whenever it fails to keep the anniversary.
Decorated first page. The blue initial letter, decorated with white patterns, encloses a field divided per pale, white and green, with a crowned shield of the arms of England supported by a red dragon and a white greyhound with a red collar. In the borders, four gold chained portcullises in brown squares, one in the centre of each margin, and in each corner a large red rose surrounded by other blue, red and pink flowers, foliage and bunches of purple grapes, against a pale brown background. Gold initials on red background at the beginnings of prayers and some other paragraphs.
Document in contemporary blue velvet binding with a brass Tudor rose in the centre and four brass chained portcullises, one in each corner, on back and front boards, and two brass clasps.
