DescriptionFrom: William Potager', MA, priest of Winchester diocese

The prior and convent of St Frideswide's Priory, Oxford, and the abbot and convent of Abingdon Abbey [Berkshire] presented William to the church of St Aldate's, Oxford, but John Buckingham, bishop of Lincoln, refused to institute him as rector at the instance of 'Dominus' John Metford, chaplain, of Salisbury diocese, who claimed to have been presented to the church. William appeals to Thomas Arundel, archbishop of Canterbury.
Given at 'Caryhyshyn' inn ('hospicium'), Oxford [Oxfordshire].
