Evidence shows that the priory's predecessors leased their estate ('fundu') in Biddenden in the denn of 'Tryndherst' for fealty, suit of court of their manor of Westwell, and payments as specified, including a payment for the right to cut trees ('daungerium'). Reserving to the priory all the wood in the estate, pannage whenever it shall occur and 12d 'daungerium' as aforesaid. The present tenants ('tenentes modernii') and other intruders ('invasores') have been infringing the priory's timber rights. The priory grants them timber rights as specified. For an annual rent of assize of 12d and the services, ancient rents and ancient customs of the same denn. Right of distraint. Reserving to the priory fealty, suit of court and the rents and customs anciently due and 'daungerium' of 12d, except pannage, which is owed when it occurs. Priory's part of the indenture. Given at Canterbury.
