| Description | From: the principals, seniors and vicars choral of Wells Cathedral, Somerset To: Peter Newman of Wells, cook; Margaret, wife of Peter Newman of Wells, cook; John Playse the younger, son of John Playse of Minchin Barrow, Somerset A messuage in Torr lane in St Cuthbert's parish, Wells, between two tenements lately built by John Clarke, one of the vicars of Wells, being lands of the principals, seniors and vicars choral, lying to north and south, with a garden 60 feet in length eastwards from the tenement, 3 feet in breadth from the wall adjoining it to south, and 18 feet from the 'Poyninge' end of a stable which is part of the tenement in the occupation of James Manyman adjoining it to north, with a right of way to the well in the tenement to north, in the occupation of John Clarke, for 'necessarie pott water'. For the lives of Peter, Margaret and John Playse. For an annual payment of 2s, payable as specified in the lessors' common hall, and suit of court at Dulcote or Wells or a payment of 6d for each default. Condition on repairs and other conditions. Right of distraint if payment in arrears. The vicars choral have appointed William Bower and John Clarke, gents, to deliver seisin of the tenement to the lessees.
