| Description | From: Hodierna, late wife of Richard Brod To: Mgr William, rector of Newington [Surrey] Hodierna is bound to warrant 3 half-acres of land [presuambly in Newington or Walworth, both Surrey] by the service due to the chief lords of the fee to Willliam during her lifetime. Which lands William holds by charter under a penalty of 100s. She subjects herself and all her goods to the jurisdiction of the archdeacon of Surrey, so that he can compel her to warrant the lands and pay the penalty by ecclesiastical censure, and renounces all rights of appeal. If William is involved in a dispute over the penalty because the warranty is inadequate she will refund his expenses. No date. [Date: handwriting and witnesses to other Walworth charters.]
