The prior is represented by William le Surteis, his proctor. Hugh and Joan acknowledged that the manors of Walworth and Newington [both Surrey] and 100s of land in Hallingbury [Essex] are the right of the priory and quitclaimed to it for them on behalf of themselves and Joan's heirs. For this the priory quitclaimed to Hugh and Joan for the 100s of land in Hallingbury and has paid them 80 marks.
