An annual payment of 40s, payable as specified in the church of St Thomas Acon, London, for the manor of 'Thurghton Hall' [unidentified] in Suffolk, and a penalty of 10s whenever the payment is 15 days or more in arrears. Right of distraint if payment in arrears. If within 5 years of the date of these presents Roger grants John Arundell, Edmund, John Howden, John Mildenhale, William and John Gardyner an estate in any lands in the vill ('villa') or parish of Windsor in Berkshire, or within 24 miles of it, to the annual value of 40s, the annual payment of 40s and penalty of 10s shall cease. The grantors have delivered seisin in the payment to the grantees by a payment of 12d. Signature of Clon' at end of document.
