2 acres of land which John has of the gift of Stephen son of Henry-the-carpenter of Thorpehall ('Suthtorp') [in Southchurch], lying with Stephen's land to south and the way called 'kantinges Tye' which leads from the church of Southchurch to North Shoebury to north, the land of the rector of Southchurch to west and the way which leads from Littlethorpe ('Northtorp') to Thorpehall [both in Southchurch] to east. Condition against tenure by religious men or Jews. For annual payments of 12d to the chief lords of the fee and a clove ('clavum gariophili') to John, both payable as specified. For this Richard has paid 2 marks as a gersum fine. No date. [Date: handwriting and witnesses to other Southchurch charters.]
