An annual payment of 17s in the vill ('villa') of North Shoebury, payable as specified by the heirs of Nicholas Grapinel for the whole of the land and marsh which Nicholas formerly held of Rose. For annual payments of 2d for hidage to the chief lords of the fee and a clove ('clavum gariophili') to Rose, both payable as specified. For this Richard has also paid 16 marks as a gersum fine. No date. [Date: handwriting and witnesses to other Southchurch charters.]
