Joan holds holds lands and tenements of Richard's fee in Leigh parish ('lega'), namely the lands which were of Peter le bard, Alexander stori, Richard Strangbowe, William bober, William darnel and others, and owes suit of court from 3 weeks to 3 weeks for them to Richard's court of Southchurch at his summons. Richard releases and quitclaims these suits. However, Joan shall make 2 suits a year to the court of Southchurch as specified, for which she will be summoned 15 days in advance. Joan shall also make a suit to the court for strengthening the final judgement of a writ of right if it happens and at the indictment? of thieves indicted in the court. If Joan cannot be present at either of the courts, she can essoin and warrant her essoin by her oath or pledge of faith ('fidei datio') at the next court. For this Joan has paid 2 marks. No date.
