DescriptionFrom the registers and accounts of Canterbury Cathedral Priory, relating to the priory's right to receive the profits of the churches of Mayfield [Sussex], Cranbrook and Northfleet and the prebend of Deal, which have been appropriated to the archbishop's table, when the see is vacant and its right to prove wills sede vacante. Also contains an extract from the charter founding Archbishop Arundel's chantries in Canterbury Cathedral and Maidstone relating to the appropriation of Northfleet church. The extracts relate to vacancies following the deaths of John Stratford, John Offord, Simon Islip, Simon Langham, William Wittlesey, Simon Sudbury, William Courtenay, Thomas Arundel and John Stafford. The earliest extract is dated 1348, the latest 1452. No date. [Date: handwriting and date of latest extract.]
