Pope Gregory XI has granted them expenses of 24 florins a day from the papal chamber for their mission to Flanders on behalf of the English church. The English clergy are encouraged to pay this, as is more fully contained in 3 other papal letters. Thomas has warned all the clergy in his diocese and his jurisdiction of Isleham [Cambridgeshire] to pay a tax of ½d in the mark on their goods and benefices to 'Dominus' Robert, rector of St Gregory's by St Paul, London, and 'Dominus' Ralph, rector of St Botolph's without Aldgate ('Aldrichesgate'), London, the priory's receivers in London, in St Gregory's church within 24 days of his warning.
