Description | From: Robert Winchelsey To: the prior of Canterbury Cathedral Priory
He and his companions are all in good health. They entered Rome on 17 May and he visited as many of the cardinals as he could, both in Rome and elsewhere, and was favourably received by them. However, the cardinals cannot agree on a pope and until they do nothing can be achieved in the business of his election, although he has done what he could. When the business begins he must be prepared to spend lavishly because everyone in the curia will expect something from the archbisop-elect of Canterbury. Given at St Martin de Monte [Abbey], Viterbo [Roma, Italy].
