Description | From: Richard de Gravesend II, bishop of London To: Henry of Eastry, prior of Canterbury Cathedral Priory; the chapter of Canterbury Cathedral Priory
He has received the priory's letters dated 19 Dec at its chapter house in Canterbury (recited). Since the see of Canterbury is vacant by the death of John Pecham, late archbishop, the priory nominates Mgr John of Selson ('Selvestone') [in Eastry] and Robert de Celesya, in accordance with the agreement between it and Richard and asks him to approve one of them to be appointed as official of the court of Canterbury sede vacante. Richard approves the appointment of John. Given at Canterbury.
