Part of Ingram's name and other areas of text lost.] He has received a third part of his salary of £16 Tournai which Robert and Richard have promised to pay him on behalf of the priory for his advocacy in a cause which Mgr Robert de Gernemue, archdeacon of Canterbury, has moved against the priory in the presence of 'Dominus' Jordan, cardinal-deacon of St Eustace, concerning the jurisdiction which Robert de Gernemue claims he has when the see of Canterbury is vacant. In return for the salary, Ingram promises that he will act as advocate for the prior and chapter until the end of the cause. Given at Rome [Roma, Italy].
