On 30 Jul Robert Gerin and Emma, his wife, as executors, proved the testament of John de la forde (recited). John is to be buried in Hollingbourne churchyard. Bequests to altars in the church as specified. Bequests to William the chaplain ('capellanus'), Richard the chaplain, William the clerk, John the sacrist, Alice levest', Emma wife of Reginald Goldvinch, Mabel widow of Adam le Rop, John son of Robert Gerin, Joan and Matilda his sisters, John junior, their brother, William their brother, Thomas son of Emma wife of Reginald Goldvinch and Henry Werin. Residue to the children of his daughter. Bequests are of money, livestock and clothing. Provision for masses to be said for his soul by, among others, the friars of Aylesford Friary ('fratres de la Carme''), and distribution of grain to the poor as specified.

Testament stitched to top left corner of probate. Probate endorsed 'non solvit alicui pro litera ista' in late 13th cent hand.
