Description | From: Henry III, king of England
Roger de la Lee, prior of Canterbury Cathedral Priory, and convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory, have, at the king's instance, appointed the king's clerks Mgr Atto ['Attonem' in acc] of Parma, Mgr Alexander the secular and Mgr John de Dia as their proctors at Rome in the business of electing Boniface of Savoy, proctor of Belley Cathedral [Ain, France], as archbishop of Canterbury. So that the priory will not suffer any prejudice or expense because of this, the king grants that if his clerks incur any debt on the priory's behalf he will reimburse the whole amount. Given at Westminster [Middlesex].
