A piece of land which Ralph holds of Remigius Bareth, lying between Peter and Joan's land and the land of Robert le Huser and abutting Peter and Joan's land and the land of Robert le Huser [possibly in or near Pevensey, Sussex?]. Reserving a right of way to the land to Ralph. For an annual payment of 3 grains of pepper ('granum piperis'), payable as specified. In exchange, Peter and Joan have granted Ralph a piece of land lying between the land of Remigius Bareth and the king's highway which leads from Horse Eye ('Horsye') [Sussex] to 'Landrythe' and between Remigius' messuage and the way which leads to 'la melnberghe'. If any of the parties cannot warrant their land or defaults in the service owed to the chief lord of the fee, the other party can return to their land as if the exchange had never taken place.
