Description | From: Henry de Langchamp, knight Addressed to all the faithful in Christ and especially his tenants of the manor of Stisted, Essex. Henry has granted the manor of Stisted to Robert Hathbrande, prior of Canterbury Cathedral Priory, and the convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory, to be held on the terms specified in his charter. To strengthen this grant, he commands his tenants to answer to the priory for all services and customs in future as fully as they used to answer to him, excluding him from all right or claim to their services because of the transfer of lordship ('attornatamentum'). These letters are to be shown to the tenants as a warranty for the change of lordship. Sent patent. Given at Stisted [Essex].
