The land with buildings in St Olave's parish, Southwark, between the land which was of Robert Coterell' and between the land of the monks of Canterbury Cathedral Priory in length and width. For an annual payment of 12s, payable as specified. Marsilia and Alan's heirs do not owe ('debeo') Gilbert and Alviva anything for the land for accommodation ('hospitar'') for anyone or anything to be lodged ('hospitand'') by or on behalf of them (Marsilia or Alan's heirs). If Gilbert and Alviva wish to sell, consume? ('expendo'), mortgage or alienate the land in any way Marsilia and Alan's heirs should be given preference before all others ('erimus propinquiores omnibus aliis') for 1 gold bezant. For this Gilbert and Alviva have also paid 5½ marks as a gersum fine. No date. [Date: handwriting.]
