Description | From: Alan son and heir of the late Ralph of Ireland To: 'Dominus' Thomas de Ringmere, prior of Canterbury Cathedral Priory; the convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory An annual payment of 12d quit-rent, payable for the priory's tenement in the vill ('villa') of Southwark ('Suwerk'') in St Olave's parish as it goes towards Bermondsey, the tenement lying with the door ('janua') of the priory's hall to east and the tenement which was of John Hervey to west. For an annual payment of 1 clove ('Clavum Gariophili'), payable as specified. For this the priory has also paid 8s as a gersum fine. No date. [Date: Thomas de Ringmere's dates.]
