DescriptionFrom: John Taillour of Whitstable parish, aged 94

John Stace the elder of Seasalter was farmer of the manor of Seasalter which belonged to Canterbury Cathedral Priory. His cattle were distrained by a servant of the priory for a debt he owed its treasury for arrears and John Taillour, who was then aged 16, heard John Stace complain to William Hannyn', John Brede, William Lambe, John hanyn' and others that he had been treated illegally, although if the distraint had been taken in 'Stonebache', 'Cowehope' or 'Robertismersshe' it would have been legal because these lands belonged to the manor of Seasalter, and they agreed with him.
