For an acre of land in the vill ('villa') of Southchurch lying to the west of William's croft called 'dedecroft' on which his houses have been built in length to north and south next to the ditch ('fossatus') which divides the acre and the croft. For this Richard has paid 17s. No date. [Date: handwriting and witnesses to other Southchurch charters.]
