Description | From: Richard the baker ('pistor') of Prittlewell To: Richard of Southchurch 8 acres of land in Prittlewell parish which Richard the baker held of William son of Hugh in the said vill ('villa'). Condition against tenure by religious men or Jews. For an annual payment of a root of ginger ('radix gingibris') to Richard the baker and 12d to William son of Hugh, both payable as specified, for all services except royal aids and tallages and the murder-fine ('murdrum') when it occurs. For this Richard of Southchurch has also paid 4½ marks as a gersum fine. No date. [Date: handwriting and witnesses to other Southchurch charters.]
