Description | From: William le Butileir To: John, brother of William le Butileir 10 acres of land in the vill of Prittlewell, of which 5 acres lie in a field called 'Dune' with the land of the monks of Prittlewell to east as far as ('usque') the field which is called 'Holecroft' and the other 5 acres lie in the field called 'Holecroft' on the north headland of the 5 acres with the land of the monks of Prittlewell to north. For an annual payment of 12d, payable as specified for all services except royal service, namely a knight's fee ('scutum') of 20s 1d. William also grants John pasture of the way against his land ('pastura chemini contra terram suam'), free right of driving animals ('fuga') to William's fish-pond ('vivarium'), and free right of watering cattle or pasture of the way ('adaquacio sive pastura chemini').
