DescriptionFrom: Henry VII, king of England
To: the prior and convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory

The priory is acting sede vacante. The see of Canterbury is vacant by the death of Cardinal John Morton, the last archbishop. The king presents his councillor and secretary Thomas Ruthall, to the rectory of Monks Risborough, which is vacant by the resignation of John Hervy, clerk, the last incumbent. The king has the right to present to Monks Risborough because the temporalities of the archbishopric are in his hands following the archbishop's death. The king asks the priory to admit and institute Thomas to the benefice. Henry VII's sign manual at head of document.

Endorsed with note that this was exhibited on 4 Oct in early 16th cent hand.
