The see of Canterbury is vacant by the death of Cardinal John Morton, the last archbishop. The king presents his councillor and secretary Thomas Ruthall, to the rectory of Monks Risborough, which is vacant by the resignation of John Hervy, clerk, the last incumbent. The king has the right to present to Monks Risborough because the temporalities of the archbishopric are in his hands following the archbishop's death.
