DescriptionFrom: Theobald, archbishop of Canterbury

He confirms the grant made by William of Eynsford ('Ainesford') [I, son of Ralph], an old man, and his son and grandson [both called William], to the cathedral priory in perpetual alms of the land of Ruckinge ('Rocchinges'). The profits are for the use of the sacrist ('secretarius') to provide a light, day and night, before the high altar. Also he has freed the land from the service of 1 knight and from scutage. He has quitclaimed for these in the presence of William of Eynesford in the priory chapter house. No date. [Date: as in Saltman, cited below.]
