Description	From: the rural dean of Bridge To: Mgr Thomas of Canterbury, commissary general of Canterbury sede vacante He has received Thomas's mandate, dated 18 Sep 1348 at Canterbury (recited). This commanded him, by the authority of the prior and chapter of Canterbury Cathedral Priory, to cite all the clergy of the deanery of Bridge subject to archiepiscopal jurisdiction and their servants to appear in Canterbury Cathedral on the next day of judgement after 30 Sep to make an oath of obedience to the priory. The rural dean is to certify what he has done by 29 Sep. The rural dean has cited the clergy and others named in the attached roll. [Document faded. Parts only visible under ultra violet light.] Given at Chillenden [Kent]. Roll of names attached to the certificate by its seal tongue and now mounted on the same sheet of parchment. Roll endorsed 'Decan' de Bregg'' in mid 14th cent hand.
