Description(1) Mandate
From: Thomas Goldstone, IV, prior of Canterbury Cathedral Priory; the chapter of Canterbury Cathedral Priory, acting sede vacante
To: Thomas Hobbys, DD, warden of All Souls College; the fellows of All Souls College, Oxford
The priory, acting sede vacante, has the right to appoint to vacant offices in All Souls College if the warden and fellows fail to do so, in accordance with the college's statutes. The office of subwarden is vacant and the college has failed to appoint anyone within the specified time. The priory therefore appoints William Broke, DCnL and commands the college to accept him. If anyone objects to this appointment, the college is to cite him to appear before the priory. Dated at Canterbury, no date [c1500]. [Date: date of other items on these pages.]
