| Description | From: Thomas Goldstone, IV, prior of Canterbury Cathedral Priory; the convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory To: William Pyx' of New Romney
Thomas Rowe had late been seised in his demesne as of fee to the use of John Boureman, then of Newchurch, with the intention of fulfilling John's last will, of 4½ acres of land in Newchurch, lying with the lane leading from Blackmanstone to Bonnington to east, the land of William Armynard to south, John's other lands to west and the land of John Armynard to north. Thomas held these lands of the priory, as of demesne of their manor of 'Sextens Aysshe' (unidentified) for fealty, an annual payment of 10s 9d, payable as specified, suit of court and a relief of 10s 9d, payable to the priory sacrist, of which rents and services the prior is now seised in right of his church. Thomas Rowe declared his last will at Newchurch on 13 May 1483 by which he wished that the lands held by the feoffment ('feoffat'') of John Boureman should be sold and the money received from them disposed of in various works of charity specified in the will. After John's death the lands came into the possession of William and he is now seised of them with the intention of fulfilling John's will. The priory, wishing John's will to be duly executed and the intention of it to be observed, confirm William title to the lands. Right of distraint if payment in arrears. Priory's part of indenture. William's signature at end of document. Given at the chapter house of Canterbury Cathedral Priory.
