| Description | From: John son of Serle of Newnham To: the prior and convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory A payment of 13d and 3 hens free rent, payable as specified by Ralph de Coht for a messuage and land he holds of John in the vill ('villa') of Newnham, lying with the king's highway called 'la sindene' on one side and John's land on the other. The grant is made for a light for [the altar of] St Anselm in Canterbury Cathedral. For this the priory has paid 17s as a gersum fine. No date. [Date: handwriting.]
