| Description | Plaintiff: Roger Rye of Canterbury; John atte Berton'; John Denys of Ickham Deforciant: Robert Clyfford of Well, esq In the king's court at Westminster before Richard Norton, Robert Hill, John Cokayne, William Lodington and John Preston, justices, and others on 20 Oct 1419 and 20 Jan 1420. Robert acknowledged that a moiety of the manor of Newland (unidentified), which Henry Colbeche and Margery his wife hold for Margery's life, is the right of John Denys. For this acknowledgement Robert grants that the moiety of the manor, which Henry and Margery hold of Robert's inheritance and which should revert to Robert after Margery's death, shall remain to Roger, John and John and the heirs of John Denys after Margery's death. For this Roger, John and John have paid Robert 40 marks. This agreement was made in the presence of Henry and Margery and they granted it and did fealty to Roger, John and John in court.
