| Description | From: Hamo the chaplain ('capellanus'), son of Walter the clerk To: the prior and convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory The messuage which he held of Alice castel in the vill ('villa') of Meopham. For an annual payment of ½d to Hamo, payable as specified, and a payment of 8d and 1 hen to the lords of the estate ('fundus'). For this Hugh the almoner has also paid 5 marks on behalf of the priory as a gersum fine. The grant is made to the use of the poor. No date. [Date: handwriting.]
